Please Help An FOLOTD

LOTD friend Anna and I ask for your help. She explains:

I'm an aspiring photographer and want to study photojournalism in college, and I recently entered a photo scholarship contest. It requires the public to vote for the photographers, and the top 3 with the most votes at the end of this April are the only three considered for the scholarship. I've been trying to get it out there as much as possible, and I thought no way better than your blog! I completely understand if you're not able to post it for me, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Here's the link:

Thanks a ton,
Anna Petrow

Bad Star Wars Costumes Of The Day

I feel a great disturbance in the Force.

Many thanks to Kate and Mike D. for the links.

What? They're just reading glasses!

M.C. Vader. "Stop! Vader time..."

We will crush the Rebellion. As soon as I finish my beverage. Want some? I can't drink all this.

Jazz hands!

You really need to be taller than 5'3" to pull off Darth Vader

That's no moon. It's a nerd!

Don't worry, no will ever know that you just added a sash to a gorilla costume

Albino Vader

All Chewie wanted was to get rid of the gray, but the stylist went a little nuts with the color

"I hope it doesn't rain," thought the cardboard Stormtrooper.

Suck in your gut, not your head.

I find your lack of a ladies' room disturbing.

Train wreck

Weekend Darth (or Darth Humungus)

Even stormtroopers can be rednecks

"What?! Star Wars?" said the Tribble. "Shit."

C-3PNo. Loved you in that Dire Straits video, though.

Classic 80s Music Vid Of The Day: The Flame

I put on some Cheap Trick this morning and heard this. I had forgotten they did a ballad. As ballads go, you could do a lot worse (see Marx, Richard).

This song takes me back. To what, I'm not sure, but it takes me there.

Signature 80s guitar licks kick in at 3:22.

Was that your limb? - w4m

I was running to catch the 9 train, early in the morning tuesday. Apparently I wasn't the only one: I saw you down the subway stop ahead of me. You were sprinting, and collided with a support column. Your prosthetic arm flew off, and you kept running.

You made the train, and I did not. All that was left was your lovely arm, glistening from the summer humidity. It smelled of pine and saddleneck oil.

I have it now, in my living room. It's sitting in a hallway basket, with some umbrellas and a digeridoo. Contact me: I'd like to meet the rest of you.
